Sill Replacement on a 200 Bubble

Post by Topcat Tomcat »

I bought last year, knowing work was needed on the sills.

I was intending to have it done in October, but I just couldn’t resist poking it with a screwdriver! :oops

It had been bodged with sealant, so it just I just pulled it away, along with a few other bits.

I tried to see if anyone else had recorded a similar job, but I haven’t been able to find anything.

Repair panels for these are available on ebay - look for seller 'peasantlife' and you'll see his range of parts.

Roland had already tooled the R3 panels, as he's involved with the BRM club, so he was the ideal candidate for our R8 panels :angel

Hi John. Thanks for that, but I do know about them. I was just hoping someone else had carried out the same repairs and taken plenty of photos, so I know what to expect.

I noticed that he does an inner sill repair panel, but couldn’t work out how it fitted in.

I’m going up to the Bodyshop on Monday to have it assessed. I’ll report back……assuming I remember!
