That is quite crusty, what's it like underneath? I hope you have some bodywork skills?

I saw one the other day where the the chassis rail at the rear trailing arm had gone crispy, I was quite shocked to see such severe corrosion on a R8. I hope you did some due diligence underneath before purchase?

The rear wheel arch rot isn't typical.

The other main structural issue can be the main subframe, that carries the rear engine mount, the steering rack and suspension. that is a two man professional job to change.

That charcoal metallic is a late production run colour, the car may have had a engine change?

Hi,
I own this car now for 12 Years. The Problem is that it is always standing on the street. I have no possibility to park it in a closed cabin.
Underneath it is not so bad. I have only a hole on the flansh of the end exhaust. And the two big bushes right and left are worn. I already bought it but needs to be pressed in.
It is a not charcoal. The sun is reflects it wrong. I decided 10 Years ago to paint the car with a special mercedes S class brown metallic. I got 4 Litres very cheap.
The car is at the moment already stripped and the general rust removal has started by me and a friend. I will paint it back with the original British Racing Green Metallic.
Lots of work to do.....
