Yes you do have to leave the outer bush in but for me standard bushes for the road .Plodder wrote: ↑Sun Jan 26, 2025 10:42 am Yes I did think it might perhaps be a job too far given the equipment available and the time frame. This is the extraction tool I’ve brought but I’ve yet to use it so I don’t know how well it might work.
Sorry it’s a rubbish photo.
Also just realised the the poly trailing arm bushes says that the metal shell of the old bush is to be left in so this adds to the difficulty of the job.
Perhaps not a good idea after all.

Now, that is nice! Its presence on the stand would be enhanced by the display of the 'before / unloved' condition, if available.

Re: NEC Restoration Show 2025
In some ways, leaving the outer bush casing in place makes the job easier, as the old bush can just be drilled out, then the casing inner race thoroughly cleaned.
However, bear in mind the NEC prohibit any work that could cause sparks - so no cutting, grinding or use of a rotary sander type tool. Our stand usually doesn’t have any power, either, unless an application has been made requesting it this time. You’d have to do the cleaning manually, basically.

This lovely, early, 'manual everything' 214 Cabriolet will be undergoing renovation and servicing on the club stand.
It will then be sold, with profits going to the Macmillan Nurses charity.

The car will have a new MOT prior to the show.
Parts for this car are being provided by Motaclan

The owner of the charity Cabby that will be on our stand, then sold, is enjoying the weather in Cornwall.

Who would like to help out on the club stand for a couple of hours, or more if you'd like, in exchange for a free entry ticket to the show?
Bung your name down here and we'll look to satisfy as many as possible.
You need to be a club member but you can join now, with a year's membership being less than a day's ticket
