213SE F860BEA

Post by Doive 213 SE »

Greetings all,

Purchased this Rover 213SE September 2023. It was owned several years ago by Dave Kirby, who may well be lurking on here somewhere, before it passed through several owners in quick succession. It ultimately ended up as a raffle prize by a well known distributor of old and 'retro' cars in the east of Scotland. When the prize winner came to collect the old girl refused to start, so he chose not to take it. That's when the guy contacted me, as I'd always professed an interest in the dear old SD3.

It's had lots of the usual welding work done by the looks of it, the ends of both sills have been repaired, and the rear arches too, so it's structurally sound. I've just had the timing belt done as that was probably a decade old, now it needs a thermostat and the carb looked at, as it cuts out when turning right... also, the top of the windscreen surround is rusty & allowing water to enter the cabin, but I have no idea if screens are available.

Looks very smart. I've just acquired a 1988 213SE auto. Quick Q - have you managed to source any service items yet? I want to take mine to our local garage but they want me to buy the oil and air filter before I take it in.
