Has the pump lost its ability to generate pressure?

Is there a blockage anywhere in the system?

Has something gone mechanically stiff?

I would suggest putting the front end of the car up on axle stands and turning it lock-to-lock with the engine off first - does it move easily and smoothly?

Then do it with the engine on - any difference?

Then put the wheels on the ground - ideally on pairs of oiled steel plates to reduce tyre friction, or do it on as smooth a surface as you can find, like a painted floor. Does the pump sound strained?

Is this a Honda or a K 1.6? I may have a spare pump if it's the latter...
I like Twin Cams, Single Cams, Turbos and 5-cam VVCs :cool
