Re: how to enter an eka code?

My Rover 200 requires me to enter the door key code from time to time when it has been left standing and the battery has gone flat. I need to do the following to successfully enter the door key code.

1 - Ensure the battery is fully charged. The locks will sound positive as they lock / unlock when the battery is fully charged. If the battery is flat or slightly so, the locks with sound like they are locking several times / sound lazy.
2 - Disconnect the battery earth for 5 mins and then re-connect.
3 - Ensure the Bonnet is closed. You can't do this with the Bonnet open and the battery on charge.
3 - Disconnect the battery earth for 5 mins and then re-connect
4 - Lock the car (clockwise) holding the key in the lock position for 5 - 10 seconds.
5 - If your key code is 3456 turn the key anti clockwise (unlock) 3 times. Then clockwise 4 then anti 5 then clockwise 6 at a moderate speed.
6 - Unlock the car after entry of the 4th digit. The red security light on the dash will go solid red if the code has been accepted. If you get a beep the code has been entered wrongly.
7 - if the above doesn't work you either have a different system OR you entered the digits too fast / too slow, have a faulty contact in your door lock etc.

Slightly different process from as described above but this seems to be the only way to do it in my car and it also tallies with my Rover OH.
