This is what happens when your turbo gives up the ghost. First off it starting howling, then the howling got progressively worse, then it lost all boost. Still not leaking oil though.
Thankfully someone kindly donated a replacement to us, so just got to put that on now.
Rover 220 GTi Turbo.

Got the replacement turbo on now, and the car is much better. Dead quiet and no more turbo howl now 8)

My cousin had a Renault 21 Turbo and replaced the old knackered turbo with a new unit, yet the cars performance was little improved....
Until he replaced the old rubber intake hoses!
