The 1.6 coupe is it slow?

It depends on what you compare it with!

It is the same output as the Rover 216 in a slightly lighter bodyshell - not as powerful as the 5-door 216GTi which is Twin Cam. Most Coupes have the Honda engine but later ones have the 1.6 K-Series, except the Auto that all have Honda engines. Both Honda and K-Series 1.6 produce roughly the same power, except for the afore-mentioned 5-door 216GTi.
