Not so good news that the original functionality to query the stock database and discover local stockists has gone.

It doesn't change the stock situation and it gives you a single source for your enquiry.

If enough people enquire about Unobtanium (offside), will they consider re-stocking?

Probably, if they can make a profitable sale :)

Many people are finding it difficult to find exhaust systems for our cars but XPart have a surprising number in stock.

For example they have just restocked on R8 K1.4 downpipe (WCD10227EVA), intermediate section (WCE10175EVA) and rear silencer (WCG10005EVA).

Recently they were also able to supply a complete system for a 216 R8 and the member saved more than their club membership fees :clapping

If so, how did you get on?
I used them for a D16Z2 cambelt kit, it came through very quickly 2 days by courier £75.00 delivered!

R3 200 LH front wings (ASB45005) and 25/ZR RH front wings (ASB470040) are back in stock with XPart.

No sure if the corresponding other hands are too or not....

Well, it's a good sign, that XPart still know the whereabouts of the tooling!
Hope the same applies to the R8.

They still don't answer any parts enquiries using the response form on the website. Tried a few times over the past months. Not sure if I'd have more success with a direct e-mail.

I wonder if there's a plan to restore anything like the old system when they've sorted themselves out? And what's happening to all the obscure stock at ex main dealers in the meantime?

I'd be more upset if I was missing something critical, but I can make do and mend with where I am now regarding my own restoration.

I've had this reply to my enquiry:
With reference to the requests, there has been an out of office on the email since April which has now been removed and it is being manned daily again so any requests coming through should be responded to within 48 hours.
So if somebody would like to try it out.... :cool
