The L series diesel seems like a good swop and a lot quieter than my XUD7. Thanks for the info. As far as the air leak is concerned have now sorted it and am embarrassed to say it was simply the top seal on the fuel filter had twisted and got pinched. Hey Ho alls well that ends well new seal fitted and no more air in fuel. Now have a problem with the turbo which is throwing oil into the air intake pipes from the intercooler so I think a serious change is beckoning. Any tips for the L series swop would be greatly appreciated.

You could ring CJL tuning in Spalding a bit far from you but he may be able to do the job for you as he's a rover specialist

After much researching and thinking with a beer at hand I have finally sorted the oil issue. It turns out that despite the previous person who replaced the turbo saying that all air related items had been cleaned when the new turbo was fitted it turns out that the problem was in the intercooler which was thoroughly clogged with oil and sludge. I have removed this as well as all the air pipes and breather given them a thorough degreasing, wash and dry and refitted to car which is now running great with no apparent oil blowing from the turbo. Job done. Should have done the job myself in the first place. Lesson learned.

You should be able to crank up the boost and fuelling to increase power - there must be Peugeot/Citroen forums that can help with how to do It (it's generally feasible).

Before I ended up spending more money and considering I cleaned out the intercooler etc I thought I would try an Italian service. That did the trick and I have now regained the power I thought I had lost. Thanks for everyone's input.
