Hi 216secoupe ...!,
That sounds good indeed, not knowing a great deal about where to start though :-(!!!
Friday and Saturday night sounds like a great idea.
Any idea how much it would be at Billingham?

My old club (Manta Owners) do one very year with the vauxhall association at Biling Aquadrome in Northampton.
They have kids facilities bars, fast food etc and you can if you want just hire a field if you cant fill the venue?

What a brilliant idea! I'll support that one!

Hi phil58hatch.
I have just emailed Billinham Aquadrome, with rough details, and await their response.
I hope they return some figures regarding costs etc etc, Then we can work on a date for such an event.
Not knowing the numbers yet, but I hope that this may pick up some pace and a lot of people would attend.
Could turn out to be quite a nice weekend, weather permitting!!!!!

Hi there everyone,
Well I've been getting stuck right in to my new build over the last 2 weeks, and needless to say, it has been very difficult , made even harder from the rather random weather I've had here.
I do most of my work outside so there are some limitations that naturally occur.
Having ripped out last years install (photos on my first posting) , I have had to re-route a unsubstantial amount of wiring and add a bit more too because of this years design.
It takes me around 2-3 months to think and design my build, I normally start in early December, then allow for 2 months of installation ( weather permitting!).
As I had already started my design and partial installation before I found this website , I'l give you a brief run ..
I have kept the 7 x 7" tv screens that were in the vehicle, and added another 3.
I have kept the pair of 12" JBL subwoofers, and added another pair.
I have removed the Alpine speakers, and replaced with Mutant components.
I have also kept the Mutant amp, and added another 3 to the system .
Without giving away too much before the first event ( modified nationals 2011), I have done some extensive fabric covering where I can, within my skill level, and added a more variants to the lighting theme too.
I've also added some glass lighting effects, and modified the inside of the roof and added a nice twist to the floors too.....
I have some plans for the overall bodywork this year, so i haven't really attended to much in anticipation of a respray due in August-Sept.
I couldn't afford to replace the alloys, so I have had them powder coated in white, and they don't look too bad either.
I managed to replace (temporarily) my severely cracked windscreen with one from a scrapyard for £5. ( not easy !).
I bought some Halo headlights for the car last year, I'm not 100% sure about them, but I'l be running a set of HID's in the car regardless, , after comparing them to regular lighting, I won't have anything else.
Can't think of anything else just right now, I know theres more, but it's getting late, I'l keep trying to update if anyones interested, and will post images and a link soon.
Cheers for reading folks.

Just thinking if we can get this going we could involve some other clubs - or not.
I dont think we are that big?? But the more people we can get the better - how about a feature ine the mag then we can get an idea of numbers.
The way the Manta club do it is that you turn up fri or sat then on the sunday line the cars up and have a concours comp we could split into body shape coupe etc (round for me).
I think we would have to get an idea of potential numbers for camping etc, if we involved some of the smaller clubs (potentially) BRM etc it might add some interest.
Think we may have to appoint an organiser\s first?
To keep a handle on this.
Strewth am excited alread
