One way to reduce the storage space used by the image is to open it in MS Paint (Right click on image and select edit will open it in MS Paint). Then, from the menu at the top, select Resize. Use percentage and (for example) change Horizontal to 25. Then resave the image, preferably with a different name (Image001 25pc.jpg, for example). The act of saving it will then cut the image size down massively (4MB down to 210kb was my experience).

Oh no. The Bodyshop has phoned to say it’s ready! I’m going to have to pull my finger and start preparing bumpers and lights etc, so it’s legal and watertight!

I won’t be picking up until next week. Too much salt on the road, even though it’s only two miles away!

I popped up to see it. It’s still to have it’s final polish, but it I’m pretty happy with it

One small question though. The chap is worried that the Tempest Grey is too dark and too shiny, although it was mixed to specification. Does anyone have any thoughts?

I’m not sure about the shine to be honest, although the shade may be ok. It might just be that I’m used to 30 years of fading!

I've had a couole of those grey bottom cars and from that picture/angle it does look a tad dark. But could be your photo or my PC screen

I think it might look lighter in daylight, especially as it’s shaded by a camper van next to it. He’s happy to keep it there for two or three weeks to allow me to fit exterior parts to make it legal and watertight.......and for the salt on the roads to go!

Well, after the 'headline' colour and the Tempest were applied at Longbridge, the lot would have received
the same lacquer coat. So the gloss would have been the same all over.

I hadn’t thought of that I, although it does seem a lot darker than before. I suppose it might look different with the bumpers and rubbing strips fitted.

I’ve been trawling t’ tinternet for photos and have found several that appear to show that it’s quite dark. As far as I know, there is only one version of Tempest Grey!

The bottom photo is my blue and the grey is very dark, yet others seem a lot lighter! I’m beginning to think that the lighter shade is just the result of fading........and that applies to my memory as well!
