Late Model Tourer Interior Question

#1 Post by Julesmat50 » Mon Jun 07, 2021 9:22 pm

I'm looking for some replacement parts for the interior of my late model (98) Tourer, the one fitted with the "bubble" dash, but really need some information so I can track things down. Would someone be able to tell me, how much of it is shared with the previous R8 and how much is from the HHR (I assume?). I can see that the doorcards are different, but what about the front/rear seats, carpets and other interior trim? Would the car also have had the remote central locking and immobiliser, as mine ony has a key (no fobs) and no indication of any fitted immobiliser.

Any information would be gratefully recieved, thank you.

You can fit more or less anything from an earlier R8 (I believe the rear seats from hatchback R8s also fit the Tourer) and you can use front seats from an R3 (200 Mk3, 25, ZR etc) but not a lot else. Actually, now I think of it, I am sure I have seen BRM carpets fitted in an R8 before, so you may be able to use any available R3 carpets.
I don't think anything from the HH/R 400 series (and 45) is compatible.

Your car would have had the Lucas 5AS immobiliser and remote locking when new, it is likely that this has been disabled by a previous owner and the fobs disposed of. You should have the red LED in the bottom of the instrument pack.

I have spare fobs available and a Pscan device to program them with if you are interested in reinstating the alarm and immobiliser (I am local to you too)
