According to the Gov.uk checker Rover isn't listed, however Land Rover is & ALL petrol models from 1996 are compatible with the new E10. So assuming the K series Free lander is compatible.

So does this mean post 96 Rovers with K series are also compatible ?

High octane petrol is staying at E5.

I've used Shell VPower and BP Ultimate in my Tomcats for years with no ill effects.

Although Rover isn't listed I have read through the Honda tab that all Honda engines with PGM-Fi (so the 216/416 hatch/saloon) are supposedly compatible.. However personally I am going to be sticking to the super unledded with E5

I think using E5 Super unleaded is the more safe option

Never mind E10, for a more existential threat see:
https://www.gov.uk/government/publicati ... ation-plan
Page 5 quote from Grant Shapps:
"I can also commit to consulting on setting phase out dates for all non-zero emission road vehicles, with 2040 as a backstop, setting a path to a time when every vehicle on the roads will be zero emission."

I expect this is one consultation the classic car community will need to respond to!

Use Vpower in all mine and get almost exactly the same range as I do using normal unleaded for the same amount of fuel :)
