MIJ Walsall - stainless steel exhaust systems

With the exhaust showing signs of increasing audible deterioration, it was time to visit MIJ in Walsall again. They fitted a natty stainless steel exhaust system to my Coupe a few years ago so I had no hesitation in making an appointment.



In addition to the seam into the rear silencer leaking, the flexi had seen better days so that's been replaced too, rather than the whole downpipe assy.



I've stayed 'standard'



The system was £325 and the flexi £90. The former has a lifetime warranty, the latter a 2-year one.

Thanks a lot John to show us the factory my Rover 75 V6 2.5 derestricted SS exhaust line is coming from and that was fitted 5 years ago!
I'm utterly chuffed: it's very efficient and not at all noisy, I can barely tell the difference with the genuine standard one.
And I assume it's able to outlive my poor self...
I'm terribly tempted provided they actually built SS exhaust line for my R8 cab, which doesn't look obvious...

I actually mounted custom made stainless steel exhaust on R3 in IIRC 2005 complete from downpipe to backbox. It is custom made in Croatia and it is serving me all this time.

They did a s/s system for my D16 Coupe about 5 years ago and it looked standard. as this R3 one does - apart from being rather shiny To my knowledge, they usually build on the car, rather than from a template.

I'm hoping this one lasts the life of the car

Indeed they did. I'd just had to fit the full line in place of the old one.
Carefully shipped in pieces. No damage on its way and assembled by my precious & skillful mechanic.
Very fairly & sensibly priced it was.
Fortunately the deal was done before Brexit. Now on shipping prices & custom taxes are awful.

You can and although the seats are comfy you need to take your own entertainment for the 3 hour fitting. I walked 10 mins down the canal path into Walsall town centre, hoping to visit the Art Gallery, but that's closed on a Monday
