Yeah it is. I read that you can’t have wording on the bottom of your plates any more! How joyless! Isn't that for new cars only though ? Who will know how long the plate has been on the car. I had some metal plates made up for my 1972 MG, no dealer post code, just the reg, identical to the original.

I suspect they are different, I was sold a Cabby one from ebay being told it was from a Coupe. The housings and back plates are swappable though. This is cut n pasted from my post on the RCOC when I swapped mine over : Remove the mirror from the housing, there's a small spring clip just visible alon...

I'd be very interested in how this goes, don't forget the T series, but won't hold out much hope. I live just on the edge of next years planned expansion in sunny Hillingdon, so paying £12.50 to drive 2 miles to the M40 for a day out at a meet is a bit steep.
