I don't care what they say, I'll always defend the 400 HH-R, it was great.
Cheers, i am very happy with it, it does look great. I prefer the HH-R to be honest, maybe its the nostalgia side of things, who knows!

Re: 1998 Rover 414S

That is a nice looking car! I’d heard Footman James do classic insurance for young drivers - is that right? My kids are 8 and 10 so if insurance is possible for a 17 year old on a Rover I’d better get stock piling some hood cars and dripping the idea of Rover ownership in their ears :D Keep us all ...

Re: 1998 Rover 414S

Great to see someone of the generation behind me taking an interest in the classic scene and getting involved :cool You may have discovered a life hack - Rovers are relatively cheap to insure! Got to keep the family tradition going ! :*laughs*: In terms of insurance, good ! Even if it's expensive I...

It really does! Very happy with the purchase, even if it does need the head gasket doing. Apart from a very small part of bubbling, its got great paintwork and is very solid all round

Re: 1998 Rover 414S

:welcome Blimey, 4 already ! :laughing2 It looks like you've picked up a nice motor there but make sure you get the head gasket fixed properly, otherwise it'll probably go again. Get the head checked for flatness, and skimmed if necessary, liner heights checked, so you can use the appropriate gaske...

1998 Rover 414S

Hi all I'm 16 years old at the time of writing, and can't even begin to start driving for another 9 months! However, I'm now on my fourth Rover... I blame my grandad for this, I have many memories of his Rover 400 and 45 from when I was very young, and I have always liked Rover since then. I had my ...

Wow, from 2900 to just 3 licensed !
You can really see how the scrappage schemes incl. ULEZ have affected the numbers

How many are left ?

Evening all, . My grandad owned a Rover 420 GSDi Turbo, R754 JJE, from 2001 to 2010. It then went to our local mechanic and was used as a courtesy car up until 2015/16, it was then parked up and used as a parts car. It is going to be scrapped within the next month, I am getting the leather seats fro...

Re: One of the youngest Rover fanatics ?

You’re more than welcome - it’s great to have someone of your age interested. :) The familial influence seems to be the main reason of younger people “getting into” classic cars and Rovers in particular. I’ve got my 200Vi as my Dad taught me to drive aged 12 in theirs in the 90’s while on holiday i...

Re: One of the youngest Rover fanatics ?

Hi Leyton, You're probably the youngest 'active' person on the forum but we have had someone younger in a Rover babygrow before :laughing2 If you're able to get to one or more of the shows we attend as a club next year, it would be great to meet you and help develop your skills further. The Restora...
