Intermotor 15750. Just Google that and try to find the best price. There should be a sachet of thermal grease in with the item if the package hasn't been opened. Smear it on the metal back of the spark amplifier / igniter before mounting with the two bolts. It fills the gaps between the metal surfaces when mounted together, significantly improving the heat transfer.

Technically, that grease is called "heatsink compound" and you can Google that too. Normally a white paste.

These days, high-performance PC builders will be more familiar with the term "thermal paste," as used between the processor and heatsink/cooler. These can be higher-performance greases as a processor without cooling will get significantly hotter than a D16 spark amplifier given the power dissipation involved.

Just a thought.

H.T. leads now are what are known as resistive carbon trace type - so do you have access to a good multimeter to check the resistance of the ignition leads, as they do go "high resistance " over time.

When carbon trace leads go high resistance with age, this causes a misfire or no spark at all under load - such as when pulling away.

Check your leads which should be around 6k ohms each. But I suugest you research the correct value for your particular leads on the 'net), but 6K ohms will be a good starting reference.

Start with the coil to distributor first as they tend to be the main culprit. Also, have you inadvertently bough some cheap leads?

Finally, I trust you have installed the correct plugs??

I have replaced the Ignition Coil and the problem is fixed.
The old Ignition Coil had only been on the car for 13 months and covered only 300 miles.
Maybe when the old Ignitor Module failed, it overheated and damaged the Ignition Coil ?

The Ignitor Module I fitted, came with a sachet of Thermal Grease which I used.
My car is a pre-cat and so does not have a Lambda Sensor.
The 'Check Engine' warning lamp did not come on, indicating that there were no ECU Fault Codes present.

Haynes Manual 3344 - Engine Management and Fuel Injection Systems - has a whole chapter on the Honda/Rover PGM-Fi System,
and also on the Rover MEMS MPi and SPi System. It includes detailed descriptions of each component and how to test it, overall description, drawings, diagrams and Fault Code tables.
There are currently 4 available on Ebay, starting at £10.50 free delivery.

Thanks to everyone for your advice and suggestions.
