I have been trying to get 416 brakes sorted. (1997)
It had a soft pedal which no amount of bleeding would fix and turned out to be ABS unit.
I got another used one and brake pedal solid but now has ABS light on.
Using Pscan shows it is error 83 (unknown error) but 80 series error suggests ECU fault.
Are replacement units available?

They're somewhat rarer than Hen's Teeth, unfortunately.
The club has a bleeding kit, currently out with another member, which you're welcome to use, when it comes back, if you're also a club member
The radical alternative is to remove it but you need a non-ALB brake valve and be good with a brake pipe bender. Happy to advise if you need to go down this route.
I like Twin Cams, Single Cams, Turbos and 5-cam VVCs

It’s also worth talking to an ECU repair company such as BBAReman who may be able to repair it, if you can remove & ship to them.
This is a suggestion not a recommendation, as I’ve not used their services.

I managed to find a Rover wrecker in a nearby town and got one off a 216 that looked the same an worked.
