Red rod of 200 WANTED for a 1994 214 cabby

Post by Dorchester »

Silly question: I'm nostalgic of the red rod on the body waist of my parents 1991 214 Gsi, that was destroyed in a car crash in 2015.
I'm still very sad.
I love my BRG 1994 214i cabby but I'm tired of that dull and boring fake chromed rod.

Is it possible to swap the fake chromed for red ones?
Is there a chance somebody could sell the whole lot of red rod plus some good and usable clips just in case?
Here in France it's just unobtainable.
Or is there a solution to change the fake chromed in red ones?
Red and green is a so nice combo IMHO.

Thanks a lot mates. :drive1

Hello i dont think you will get the red strips for the cabby as new i dont think they were ever a option, best way is to take yours out and spray them or wrap them hope that helps .

Thank you mate.
Is there a strategy not to break the clips, when taking them off and putting back in place?
Can I find some good clips just in case? The reference would be helpful if any.
Thanks a lot. :)

Tes either take out just chrome from trim or take of door cards etc and pinch the clip so they pop out of the square holes *laughs*, door trim start at the rear and the last front clip you turn the whole trim 180 degrees and it will slide off leaving that trim clio on the door.
