Official Rover Loose Leaf Wksp Manual

Post by Mr Teddy Bear »

Thanks to a conversation at the Bristol Classic I now have in my possession [on behalf of the club] a loose leaf copy of the work shop manual.

This covers the following engines;
1.4 K8
1.4 K16
1.6 S/DOHC
2.0 T16

Engine Management Systems:
PGM FI
MEMS-SPi, MPi

Manual G/Bx 1.4/1.6/2.0

It also covers the body in a lot more detail than Haines goes into

Should Club Members require photo copies of particular sections, then I will copy and post out. You need to have a blue forum name for this needless to say!

Thank you.

Hi

That workshop manual sounds excellent, how many pages are in PG MFi section and how many in the 216DOHC section.

Also how do I turn blue to get access

Cheers

Hi,
regarding turning blue you need to pm Tom Pinney and get him to talk to Smithy, she runs the website.

Regarding the manual I will come back on that.

I too have an original Rover WSM which I bought in the early 1990s. The one I have is AKM 6365 (3rd Edition) dated 1991. This was for our 1990 214 GSi.

I use it occasionally, but most often use the Haynes manual as I prefer the photos and there are quite a lot of tips about doing the job. I agree, the Rover manual is better for some of the body assemblies. A looming job is the replacement of the headlining which has perished and come adrift at the back. Haynes is not helpful, saying it is difficult and best to go to the Rover dealer. At least the Rover manual gives a stage by stage list of what you need to do to get the headlining out - takes two pages!

Thought i'd post this here (perhaps a link could be added to the first post on this thread for others to find it easier.

A downloadable copy of the official Rover Electrical Fault Finding manual - very useful!
