You: Oh, what did you bring then?

Them: *points out predictable nonsense, if they even had something to bring*

You: How disappointing. (even if you like it, this has to be your response, they don't half get their knickers in a twist about it)

Ok all update on my Santa Pod trip, didnt go as well as i hoped was very disappointed in how it was run to be honest everything was so slow. Wasnt to busy there so didnt understand why, i got signed onto the track at 9:30 and stayed until rain closed play at 8:30 and in all at time we managed to get 4 runs in. First time ive ran on the new surface, ive heard from a lot of people how slippy the start is now but i didnt think be as bad as it was. Ti get off the line i had to drop front tyre pressures to 16 psi, get car moving and then straight into 2nd gear or i would just wheel spin non stop in 1st and most of 2nd. Unfortunately due to the heavy rain that came now the office closed early so i didnt get my time slips and after finding a member of staff i was told if i wanted them would have to come back Sunday, the best run i know i got from my friend behind me lining up for his race was 14.8 seconds. I was hoping for a bit better really but in comparison a Astra or Corsa VXR standard in low 15's but for an Old K reg Rover with a n/a 1.8 engine built at home on hard road tyres with an open diff on first outing i think we did ok.

Few pics of the start of the day....

And finally 2 videos....

1st against my work mate in his 2 litre 175bhp stripped bear Toyota Celica....

2nd against a drag VW Bug with nitrous running in the 12's driven by a majorly hot blonde so at least had a reason to talk to her. I knew i couldnt win so i tried to guess the lights and make a run for it but i was a bit early and got a red light.....

You can't have been taking it that seriously: you had the camera outside the car! Not aerodynamically cool ha ha

Jumped and still got ya ass handed to you by the car of the people.

Good effort on the whole build though mate. I must admit, like a few people I had my reservation as to if you would get the job done but your build thread has been a really interesting follow.

Keep it up. :thumbup

Yeah I must say her car went well think she put in a 12.7 for best run not much chance against that in current spec would have been ok if I took the Evo used to run 12.0 in that :*laughing my fat rear end off* I'm hoping to get back to pod for the Saturday night special next month with some better tyres and a LSD all being well. It will definitely 100% get done mate is coming on a bit slower than I hoped but it's not been quite a straightforward as I thought and not been able to get the time on it I hoped for either. I hope do do at least one race next year (that's plan anyway :slapme )

That's respectable enough. Surprising that you took it to drag, up until now I thought it was much more a track focused car where it would likely perform quite well.
