Where did you find that table scoubix? I've got all sorted of versions of workshop manuals, the EPC and even some old microfiche parts lists here but none have that table in them.

It will be very useful for me to verify that what I reverse engineered is actually correct later on.

Have it from the "Legacy EPC" program, the other Rover EPC, distributed by Unipart, that covers the 1980s models (R800 XX, Metro, Maestro, Montego, 200 SD3, and R8s up to facelift). As you know the other EPC, the MGR/XPart one, only covers R8 from the '92 facelift.

Great work,

My 216GTi twin cam H696WTV gets taxed every April, so at the moment it’s a ‘one’ in the on-road column
There must be others ? Where are they?

Edit:
I've checked the 214S examples mentioned over the last few years on the forum against https://vehicleenquiry.service.gov.uk/, and
obtained the following outcomes:

Taxed:
H592DOD
H842DOD
J951EPN

SORN:
H119PSC
H380GDX
J319RJC
I've just attempted to look up all six of those registrations and not one of them features in the data set I was provided. I've gone back to my contact to see if we can work out why that data is missing. Either the data wasn't all provided or possibly all of those cars have had incorrect VIN's logged with the DVLA for some reason. For example I've found several Minis in the data I have that start with an SAXXW VIN when the Mini should actually use SAXXN.

I just looked up your registration and it doesn't feature in my data either. An interesting pattern is emerging in that it does seem to be a case of H/J registered cars aren't in my data set for some reason. I've fed this back to my contact, hopefully we can get to the bottom of this quickly.

That H-reg doesn't show up in the data set I have either :blink That said a little more investigation reveals that I do have 32 H-registered cars in my records and 218 J-platers. Just not any of those mentioned above.

If you want to PM your reg to me I can see if that appears in my data feel free.

Looks like some data was missed so I should be getting the missing chunk sometime next week.

While I've been further comparing the V5 declared model with the model I've decoded from the VIN I've spotted a few other missing models that I need to work out how to decode. Chiefly the SEI and Sprint models don't feature in the decoding tables anywhere that I've found so that will be my next mystery to solve. There were also "SE" variantes of the coupe which it would be interesting to see if I can decode that from the VIN or not too because it doesnt feature explicitly in the lists published in the various EPC sources.
