I have recently joined I use my rover on regular basis I noticed tonight my rear window heat panel is not working any ideas what it could be would it be the fuse. I pressed the button and the yellow light did not come on. I have a rover 200 the 214 model.
A member of the group left us a card on our car at the Statfold classic car event a few weeks ago I like to say thank you to that person glad that they did. I hope you do not mind me asking you all.

First check is on the rear window itself - are both wires to the heating element still attached?
There are 2 spade connectors, one half-way up the glass on each side, that can become disconnected or dislodged. If disconnected, re-connect or if dislodged then you'll need to buy some electrically conducting paint to stick it back on with. If that looks OK then you need to look in the fusebox to see if the fuse is intact or blown. The fusebox is down by the drivers shins and the lid just flips open. It has a diagram to help you find the location of the correct fuse. If blown, replace with the same colour but if it blows again you'll need to find out why.
Then it gets more complicated and the answer may lie in the car's wiring with the usual suspect being the wiring that joins the tailgate to the body. It is inside the grommet that is visible at the top of the tailgate opening when it's open. These wires are bent every time the tailgate is opened and closed and can fail. Then you need to find a friendly expert to help trace and fix it...

If you find the fuse blown, then you should check if tailgate wires are broken, or you might find that spade connectors are slightly bent and touching metal car body, making short circuit. In that case heatshrink wrap around is the way to go.

Are 2 the spade connectors behind the cover on the back window. Look at fuse found 25 not 25a for the back window panel it says on the cover panel 25a sorry to be a pain.

Yes, spade connectors are hidden behind the covers.
Regarding the fuse, are you sure you are looking on the correct info? Isn't that fuse number 23 with rating of 25 amps (25a)?
