Very much depends on the prep involved-if that’s stripping back to bare metal, that’s really not an unreasonable price.

It wasn’t for a strip down to bare metal , but having said that the roof and bonnet have a significant number of hailstone dents in them so that would require filling and finishing which would probably take a significant amount of time.
Trying to get a new bonnet but I’ve got to work out how to collect and store one so it doesn’t get damaged prior to getting it sprayed and fitted. Hoping to get this problem sorted in the next couple of weeks. :sneaky

A paintless dent repair technician might be able to deal with the hailstone dents for a lesser cost (and no filler!). Worth an enquiry.

I had mine painted 3 years ago at The Paintshop in Liskeard Cornwall at a cost of £3000.

They used top quality materials Glasurit basecoat & Spies Hecker 2k Laquer. Obviously the quality of the finish is dependent on the quality of application.

It is still shining as good as it did the day I picked it up.

Just a quick update. I've had a couple of quotes from two bodyshops.

The first one was from The Bodyshop Pershore. For a full respray and sorting out the deformed offside sill (the rear two thirds is apparently full of filler!), the total cost including VAT would come to £3,000.

I also took it over to KC Autocolours in Witney, who suggested £4,000 for the respray, plus a minimum of £600 for the sill, depending on what they found underneath. PLUS VAT! Based on seeing Richard J's ZT, it would be a high quality job. It had better be for that price.

In both cases, I would supply a new wing and hopefully a new sill and remove all trim myself.

I also took the Wedgwood Blue 45 to The Bodyshop to get a quote for respraying the bonnet and a machine polish. Total cost £750 including VAT. About £150 was for the overall machine polish.

However yesterday, I found out that I will be pensioned off on medical grounds in the not too distant future (expected luckily), so I intend to get another quote for respraying just the 45 bonnet at the local one. I will then assess the quality and decide how I proceed from there.

I will buy a machine polisher and have a go myself ...............after practising on a spare bonnet!

Its interesting that they don’t have a website so I missed them in my search.
Will definitely give them a ring and have a drive down to them next spring

Thanks I’ll certainly drop in on them and get them to look at the car next spring, way too much going both on and off the car at the moment🤓.
