Hmm, well, the inability to find the special tool led to the abandonment of the ALB system on my 216 GTi. It still stops pretty sharpish when called upon, but I do try not to drive "on the edge" in my old age :-)

I took the view that as it was an option when the car first came out then Honda/Rover did not see it then as a necessity. In fact the first (company) one I had back in 1990 just had the standard braking, and I did drive (and brake) pretty fast in those days, I recall that the company paid for a lot of front tyres! I drove that car to the limit for 80,000 miles in three years then somebody else had it for another 15,000 after me and it was still going strong. The one I have now is just about run in at 60,000 :-)

My vvc cabby doesn't have abs but my right leg knows cadence braking and its a lot more reliable :laughing2

I bought the ALB tool linked above but not for that much....

My idea is that it be available to club members to borrow following the payment of a suitable returnable deposit. :angel
