This R8 416 GSi Auto will be on our stand at the Restoration Show having a bit of a tidy up.

We will then be looking for a good home for it, with all profits going to Macmillan Cancer Support.

It is a one owner car with a folder full of paperwork and has covered 58,000 miles. MoT until January 2027.

Immaculate interior that has had seat covers fitted for the majority of its life. All original equipment still present and working.

Automatic transmission and PAS make for a very relaxed driving experience.

Has anyone got an OSF wing we could have to replace the slightly dented on on there at the mo, pls?

Please come along to see it and give us a hand, if you fancy :cool

Plodder wrote: Fri Feb 27, 2026 8:12 pm As its an Auto it's not as easy to lock the transmission up like on a manual.
So you might have issues stopping the engine turning over even with an impact tool if the crankshaft pulley is really tight. .
Well the crankshaft nut is free now had the dugger gun on it today it was tight but free now , the locking tool i have is for a twincam so wont fit different pulley may I suggest you take the starter motor of and lock it up that way ..

Thank you for this prep work - see you soon :cool

Well, the 416 completed an 85 mile journey to Leicestershire from Cambridgeshire last night without serious incident.
I think I will be adding a thermostat change to the jobs list, as the temperature gauge had a very low reading for much of the journey, especially when off load (downhill for example). This suggests overcooling.
There was also a tendency to hunt when stopped at traffic lights after I got off the M1, in fact it stalled at one point but then restarted straight away.

Many thanks to Chris for his efforts with the crank pulley yesterday :thumbup :thumbup

As per previous post I can’t do Friday. Would love to but family commitments mean I can only do the Sunday.
Looking forward to catching up although I’ll probably need a coffee shot on arrival to get me going as it’ll be an early start for me :D

We've had to make a last minute change to the line-up of show cars.

Unfortunately, the R8 420 Turbo is no longer available, so as a 'stand-in' we will instead have my R3 200vi on the stand.

The car needs a new headlining, as they all do ! We'll also have a go at the rear wheel arches and look to see if we can find the cause of a sporadic electrical cutting out, so there may be a bit of testbook action on the stand.
