I havent had chance to do it yet as i didnt have a 18mm spanner for the big one on the end and the 2 15mm's were too tight :blushing I lgave them a good spray of wd40 so hopefully by 2moz they will be easyer to unscrew :clapping

Ahh yes sorry about that my phone died at the weekend when I left it out in the rain :( Now I'm back to a basic phone that sort of works sometimes when the wind is in the right direction.

Glad you've found it. The hardest bit is undoing the front nut as access is rather limited on the standard bumper (not sure on yours).

The front nuts 18mm. I have 2 on each side were the easyest to undo. The other 4 were a nightmare, still are a night mare. I managed to get the passenger ones off in about 2 hours. Thet were rusted that bad. The drivers side ones are worse. I managed to get 1 off but the other one is rusted that bad it wont budge even with mole grippers and letting it soak in wd40 for a day. My mate knows the manager of a exaust and tyre place and hes gonna get some heat on it tomorrow. But yeah, well spotted Dan the 3 bushes i managed to get off were the originals :blink

I havent changed any on the drivers side yet just the passenger side.

Lets see how tomorrow goes with the blow tourch on that last bolt. :blushing

It was the passenger side that I saw moving rather alarmingly when you pulled off from MG saloon day. I'm guessing they have passed their best by now!

You can hopefully see it "should" be a simple enough job. Sometimes though the simplest of jobs turn into a right nightmare.

Oh god yeah, its such an easy job but getting them 2 15mm bolts off was real hard :blushing

Hopefully that last one will come off today :)

I went to a scrappy yesterday to find another 15mm bolt for the drivers side as the one tahts on there at the moment is rounded off that bad a 13mm spanner fits it *laughs* So im coming back home after not finding it and all of a sudden my radio dies hmmm i thought. I notice my lights are becoming very dim and my fan isnt going as fast as it should, i had it on number 4 and my wiper blades started to slow down and my rear didnt work at all *laughs*. So all the electrics were dying. This will be my Alternator wont it? The battery is fine and less that 8 months old. The original Alternator is still on the car so its lasted pretty well i think :clapping

Are they easy to change?

Ok its all sorted thank god :D The bloke i went to told me to forget giving him any money but i chucked him 20 quid for loosenuing that bolt for me. I can feel a real difference in the car now. I havent quite got the knowledge to figure out what it is but it feels so much better :cool

So, about the alternator????
