Fuel consumption. Thirsty?

I've been taking note of the fuel consumption of the 220 coupe 136bhp.
I got 10L/100kms which would convert to, I believe, 6 miles per litre.

and that's not city or sporty driving! As I said in another post, it's geared towards high revs, so at 62mph I'm doing 3000rpm.

does that sound about right?

Overall, for me, this car is a classic collector's one, and is used and looked after as one. I just couldn't use it as a daily drive :rolleyes
It's too "precious" :blushing

That is under 30mpg so on the low side. I've had much better from my 2.0 turbo.

The coolant temperature sensor is a common fault so worth checking.

CTS and maybe lambda worth swapping.

Id also check for potential air leaks as this may be fooling the system in to giving more fuel than is required. You should be able to smell raw fuel out your tail pipe at those kind of low MPG.

The temperature dial isn't working reliably.
Yep, there are certain glitches that will be worth checking our during the next service. The engine cuts out sometimes too. I don't think the clutch disengages enough... It's a 22 year old car but only 50k miles on the clock... I'll make a list of things to be done and get them done in one go, hopefully!

Because it's not my daily drive I've got time to sort out the F1 style consumption :unsure
