oh dear, oh dear.

Sold The Nipper on December 22nd to a chap for his wife who was smitten by it. She called it "that marvelous little car".
Obviously not as marvelous as she first thought.
On the 12 of this month it was towed and seized by West Yorkshire police and dumped at the Vehicle Recovery Unit's yard. :o
If it was just parked up without tax, insurance that's down to them, but if it was nicked and dumped ...
Although the DVLA have sent me a note to acknowledge they know I sold it, the fuzz sent the towing notice to me and the buyer's phone goes straight to voicemail.

Here' hoping that they will soon be reunited. 🤞

The police don’t seize cars for no tax or MOT as far as I know (that’s down to the DVLA), however they will seize for no insurance, or like you say it could be stolen/recovered. Is this a Rover we’re taking about?

Yep the last Rover I sold was involved in a accident where they didn't stop soon after I sold it. Had the police contact me and all that. Lucky I had the DVLA note saying I'm no longer the keeper and also had buyer details which I just passed on :laughing2

Yes, Paul. This was my 1982 Rover 216 Cabby.

Gone, but not forgotten.

He was SORNed and MOTd, but insurance was up to them, of course.

Still no response from my voicemail to them about it. They could be away in their horse box with a horse or two.

Oops.

DVLA no longer hold any details about the car. I can only presume that it's been crushed.

A sad end to a well loved little convertible. Gone before its time 😭
