In the Ribena ad, it would have been nice if all four doors could have fallen off the Golf simultaneously on impact, but no doubt some German lawyers would have soon been on the case......

Nah. Like on one of the "Rover Service" TV ads, they just unbolt things and push them out from the inside. You can make a rear lamp cluster look damaged if you undo the bolts and have someone in the boot whack the studs with a hammer so it falls out on cue, dangling by the wiring loom. The bumper in the Ribena add has been done the same way I would have thought.

I'd be more worried about the stunt bicycle rider rolling over the bonnet, but it is a phase 2 with grille and no-one wants them anyway

I must be the exception I much prefer the phase 2's to the phase 1.

And who spotted the back end of a blue 93MY 5-door R8 in the 3rd episode of the BBC's 'Crossfire'?

It looks accidental rather than staged to me.
