If someone has an r8 with the t16 turbo engine could you please show me with a picture where the diagnostic 3 pin connector is in the engine bay, I have a feeling mine is missing as I can't find it anywhere, thanks to anyone who can help.

It should be hanging about in the area of the fusebox, ECU, ABS modulator and battery.

If you zoom in, you'll see it connected to the T4 by the jumble of red wires in this pic

I guess that with or without turbo it doesn't make any difference.
My little 94 214 cab has the same diagnostic port (with its twin alarm port) that can connect any diagnostic tool to the 1.9 MEMS ECU.
Personally I'm using TOAF with its app on my Android phone. It works fine even if it's far less powerful than a T4.
Anyway I succeeded in modifying the advance to a better & faster result.

Thank you very much chaps, I have mems diag and would like to be able to use it. My car is in the garage currently but I'm reasonably certain the diagnostic port is missing, any ideas as to where I'd locate a replacement??

Thanks again for your help with this.

As I've got the diag plug in my 1994 214i cabby I'm pretty sure you've got yours in your 220T coupé.
In my LHD when you're in front of the car it's located at the right hand close to the fuse box and the battery.
You should have two similar ones: the white one you need, and a green one which is for a volumetric alarm.
