Detailed Wiring Diagrams

Hi All

Does any one know if detailed wiring diagrams exist for the Air Con system for the Rover 25 MG ZR?

I've got the Haynes manual for the 25/ZR 99 to 06 and it has some repair procedures for the air con system and lots of wiring diagrams at the back of the book but no wiring diagram thats is for or includes the AC system.

I've also got the a PDF of the Rover workshop manual and thats got no wiring diagrams at all, unless i've missed them in the 925 pages !!

Now from reading the Haynes i know the compressor is controlled electrically and i'm assuming Harness/ECU is involved somehow.

So the reason for the question is that i fancy putting AC on my non-AC car, you know just for fun :D

Now if the harnesses are a common design it will be easy(ish) but if they are completly different it will be a bit more errr impossibleish.

But I need to know exactly what is present or missing to decide how difficult it might be and if its worth the effort, but to make that decision i need to look at a wiring diagram that includes all of the AC components.

I mean a wiring diagram must have been done at some stage, even in the design process so hopefully someone has or knows how to get such a thing.

Cheers Bean

IT depends what MY the car is, this is for a 2002.5 MY

It should be easy enough to make an overlay harness.

Hi

My car is an 05 Streetwise, but i would hope it would be the same as i doubt that Rover had much time or money to go around changing stuff they didn't have too as long as it worked.

But i'll have a look to see what i can see.

What source was that from?

Ta Bean

I am aware of one difference between the A/C on a 2002 car and a 2005 car.

On the older car, the A/C switch is of a latching type (you press it and it keeps the contacts closed until you press it again at which point it opens its contacts)

On the newer car, the A/C switch has momentary contact, so there must be a latching circuit somewhere else in the system.
