hi all my freind has a 1.4 16 v 84 ps rover 25 does anyone know what you have to change to get it up to a 103 ps cheers craig

All you need to do is to swap the throttle body and throttle cable with one from an unrestricted car (the standard plastic throttle body on them has a restrictor that prevents the throttle opening fully. Yes it really is as simple as that!

I don't understand why companies do things like that, is it just marketing and sales stuff?

Because that is what the market wants is the answer. The lower power model is cheaper to insure. Remember the 1.4 is a very powerful engine for its size in full power form.

If you derestrict the engine then you should also inform your insurance company as your car will now go faster!
