Rover 200 & 400 Owners Club

Well seeing as there seems to be a bias towards the 200 on here I recently purchased a very early 420GSi Sport Turbo to use as my 'run about' The coupe is being treated as show car now.

Anyways, here she is as I got her:





She's by no means perfect cosmetically, with lacquer peel on the bonnet and key marks etc, but mechanically she's sound. Gearbox is spot on turbo appears to pull well, only gremlin is a grumbly wheel bearing. I tried fitting it this weekend but had 'issues'. The car may have won the battle, but I'm sure as hell gonna win the war :twisted:


Today I fixed the drivers central locking motor and swapped the bonnet over for the one that was on the coupe before the respray. Its not perfect, but it doesn't have the lacquer peel that the original one had.

Some time after the classic car show it will be getting the 'full works' from me cosmetically so I shall update again then.

Thats a bit of homemade engineering that was on my coupe before it went to the bodyshop.

Very jealous mate, always lusted after one,only ever seen about 3 on the road!
Is that grille badge the small one that usually lives on the rear doors?

were not bias towards the 200 it's just that the 400 is the booted version of the 200 and the hatch is more pratical. thats why I've got a coupe

nowt wrong with the 200... I just decided to help the minorities' numbers out
