It seems to be running fine, better than it ever has. Pulls off smoother, the lot. Its in the garage at the mo having its new exhaust fitted

Whilst it is up on the ramps have a look at the front tie rod bushes as I think they may be past their best judging by the look of it when it pulled off from MG saloon day.

Hi, well I hope they are right and its plain sailing from now. How much was the final bill if thats not too ruder question? Its unusual to be the valves though! Do the Redex treatment each and every fill up and you will have no more problems. I never do on my Rover, Fiesta or VERY high mileage new shape driving school Micra! Dave W

Ill take your word for it Dan and book it in to have them changed next week

The final bill was £592 and a few pence. The exhaust was £275.
Ill tip some redex in each time now, thanks Dave.

Get some poly ones from markcoupe/silverstormai? as they'll last forever and reduces any torquesteer problems.

Front Tie Bar to Body Bushes £20.18

They are usually easy to change but I'm not sure if your front bumper will make it harder to change (as there isn't a lot of space between the cross member and the standard bumper).

Have a look under the car. You need to undo the nut off of the end of the tie bar that links the front of the car to the lower wishbones (and also the two bolts off of the wishbones). If you can get access to the front nut then changing them is pretty easy. An hour a side tops for a DIY-er.

You need to undo 20 then undo 21 (x2) and then remove and replace hte bushes 18.

The pic is of the left/passenger side wheel.
