Rover Germany had lots of these heater rings made and fitted them to many special editions. These have been made for the later dash with the fake wood heater dial panel. They will fit the earlier black one, but the panel needs a very little trimming around the dials, as the grain in the black panel raises the surface a bit so that the rings tend to pop back out if pressed in.

Does anyone want them - I have decided to never fit them as I think there is no place for chrome on the dash in these cars (and have changed my car from wood imitation to black - so if someone has an LHD car I can supply the matching panel).

Regards,

Alexander

Looks gorgeous...!

Some of those pics could be lifted straight from a Rover brochure.

Has the car been anywhere in 15 years..?

Credit to you & your father for taking such good care of it.

Thank you, folks!

The chrome rings around the heater controls and gear knob were ordered from a Portuguese supplier some years ago. I think it goes great with the rest of the interior. Well, i have to admit I love the car the way it is now, well... R8's don't need that much to look great, don't you agree? :)

Alber, this VALEO headlights are equal to the original, but I decided to buy new ones after all this years to give the front section a fresh and clean looks.
My SEi has a rear lip spoiler from a 216GSi, that's my favourite R8 spoiler, the most discrete yet sporty and stylish.

Red Icon, she has no name but I have to think about giving her one. :)

I forgot to mention some upgrades he's been trough, so here's the list:

- Conversion to 4 power windows;
- Conversion to electric and heated rear view mirrors;
- MFU with fading light;
- Under-bonnet insulation from a GSi model;
- Under dashboard insulation panels from a diesel RF model;
- New original rear sun-blind;
- New leather steering wheel and gear knob from RimmerBros;
- Instrument panel bezel from a Coupe;
- Ventura -35mm lowering springs;
- And other things I certainly forgot to mention...
