I'm using the ZR front sub frame/steering rack on mine so I got the 25mm roll up up front and the ZS 180 at the rear. Because I was having trouble with under steer was thinking of trying a Rover thinner front bar. At the minute I've only gone for a slightly stiffer coil springs 300 front 200 rear iirc so will start there and see what happens before I mess about with the roll bars got to start somewhere I guess :blink

Finally got the coilovers and top mounts on, just set them up with a tape measure for now but will get the car set up on corner weight sales at some point. Just going to let it all settle in for now them will redo the wheel alignment but first impressions are really good, on the road with the bump and rebound on the softest settings it rides better than the ZR/ZS dampers i was using before. Should be back at Bedford Autodrome in January to test them with the MG/Lotus owners club see if its all been worth it.

Had the cut most of the inner sections of the turrets out to get the -4 degrees as in the Rover Sport manual as per Dunlop Cars but think i will go for -3 degrees when do the alignment again.

Little update not done anything to car lately due to weather but getting moving bit now. Booked another trackday at Bedford for Feb 16th to see how car performs on coilovers, also got two more upgrades on go.

Finally got the factory seat mount cut out ready for the floor bars to be welded in for the race seat....

Test fit of the seat....

Im also getting rid of the Poly Bushes in the rear trailing arms as there so stiff they dont allow the arm to pivot so i cant adjust the rear toe, after a fair bit of research and talking to guys racing in various series on the Honda scene both here and in the USA ive gone for these, they are offset and lowered to improve the toe curve....

Hoping to get them in this week but but im still waiting for them to get here, they took 2 days after ordering to get from Los Angeles to UK, and there still being held in customs after 6 days :cursing :cursing

Finally got the bearings on Thursday and as the weather was ok today got one side done :D must say im very impressed with the quality of the parts and the suspension moves so much freely now when you push down on the corner, compered to the side with the Poly bush in its like having to completely different springs fitted. I also noted that you hardly get any change in the angle of the wheel when you add weight or jack the car up slightly where as with the poly bushed side its quite noticeable so fingers crossed its looking like when a worth while, even tho expensive upgrade....

They're smart looking parts!
By "the angle of the wheel" do you mean camber angle? As far as I can analyse this, it would be controlled by the geometry of the toe link, and lower and upper control arms, and presumably intended to keep camber relative to the road somewhat constant as the body rolls (and consequently one hub drops while the other rises relative to the body). If the new component is affecting this, maybe it is imparting some strain to the other arms' rubber bushings?

It's more the Toe (by eye) naturally as you add or take away load the wheel tries to move one way or the other it's just probably around 70% less visible now on side with the bearing fitted. :wink3

Finally made a start on the new gearbox today since i had a day off work, been looking for a good low mileage G4BSV PG1 from another ZR160 but been unable to find one so ive decided i will use the G6BP box i have as a spare i got from a Lotus Elise S2 111S as i know its a good low mileage unit. Its the same low ratio 1st-5th gear set as the ZR160 but with the 3.9 diff rather than the 4.2 i want so im also replacing the input shaft and crown wheel to bring it to the same spec as the box already in the car. Just doing a dummy build for the moment so i can measure everything and order all the bearings, shims etc all together cant wait to test the ATB....

Also i took the car to work yesterday to adjust the wheel alignment and i got to say im over the moon with the bearings

Just quick inform, done a trackday yesterday at Bedford again to compare the car against how it was last time. I will be making a little video of my best lap from this and last trackdays side by side for comparison I'm just waiting for Javelin to add the pictures so can made a little video but i was just over 7 seconds (best vs best) faster than before since fitting the coil overs and PCI bearings which is two corners on the track so I'm on the right path. Still a long way to go but so next things are to double the spring rates (still to soft for track) and definitely need to get the LSD in as I was getting terrible wheel spin out of corners so was having to often say in a higher gear which is probably losing me a few seconds per lap but here's a little drive by clip filmed by someone in the pits....

Quick update, been a bit of a delay as i ended up not using the used diff i had a got a brand new unit ATB from Quaife but i had a bit of a nightmare getting a few of the shims i needed due to them being obsolete. Anyway its all rebuilt now and back in the car with steel caged bearings and all end floats ect all set to factory specs and filled with Millers Nanodrive CRX 75W90 NT+ competition gear oil....
