Hi all
My 216 failed its MOT on corroded power steering pipe and replacements are now NLA. Ive had the idea to replace with high pressure rubber hose. Any thoughts or suggestions ?

Re: Power steering
Brakequip have samples of many of our cars PAS pipes and can make replacement parts. They're not cheap though.
Putting HP hose in is possible, in theory. Has anybody done it successfully?

Re: Power steering
Just get them made up with the screw fittings on the end , cant see why the pipes would be expensive they are just standard pipe sizes .Furness Fluid Power Ltd
Hydraulic equipment supplier in Morecambe, England did some of mind and the rubber pipe from the pump which has a swage fitting on , you just need to find somewhere near you .

Re: Power steering
Hydroscand are pretty good for making bespoke hydraulic pipes, they have branches nationwide.
Re: Power steering
The reasons for having it not all hose, apart from cost and packaging (you'll struggle to get a route that misses everything at the rack end), are response and noise. Both of which you may be able to live with.
