Seems overly cautious thinking by committee
Given the pent up demand for shows I think a book ahead scheme would have worked
Won’t go in 2022 on principle now.

The possible risk of cancellation due to future changes mean that the clubs would end up carrying the financial risks and being a cautious group, we're not comfortable with that.

The seed-funding and potential profits and losses are shared evenly between the JRC clubs, meaning that the smaller clubs would bear a disproportionate risk compared to their revenue.

I trust you'll reconsider your decision

This is a serious issue for a small club like ours! I would expect that a loss of more than £5k in total, for an event like this would be difficult to absorb on any sort of proportional basis. When I sat in the hot seat we took part, but I wouldn't take any part of the risk; this of course meant that we didn't participate in a share of the profit either!
That was preferable to potentially becoming insolvent and the club committee/members being asked to dig into their pockets.

It's worth bearing in mind that other clubs are in a strong financial position, if you consider the sort of people who drove Rover 3 Litres etc back in the 50's & 60's & 70's! whereas we still, I expect, are not a wealthy club.
