Hey guys!
So I’ve been reminiscing on the past good times and wondered if they’re still out there.
The first is a Rover 213s dark blue, C175 NNO registration, last seen South east wales. If you
The second and one and I’m keen to try and find it, is a Rover 216 EFI VandenPlas, it was light blue metallic. Leather interior, good man’s pull out cassette deck, it had patch on passenger seat right side boulster to cover a rip. scratch mark on driver rear quarter and missing it’s front upper grille panel chrome trim F848 XKG the registration. Part Ex’d in TG cars of Pengam Blackwood southeast wales last seen in south east wales.
It is highly probable these cars are sat in a salvage yard or been crushed by now. But if you know of these or possibly owned either one of them I’d like to know
Are they out there?

Try popping the reg's in the gov vehicle enquiry site and see what it brings up.

F848 XKG the one I’m most interested in was due Tax 2002.Lerich wrote: ↑Sat Jan 22, 2022 9:19 pm Try popping the reg's in the gov vehicle enquiry site and see what it brings up.

C175 NNO was due tax 1997-This was 1 year post my dad part ex’ this car so I think this one is long gone.
I’m hopeful EFI as we named her, the 1988 F, light blue metallic is sat in a garage somewhere or on someone’s driveway. She was a solid car when we had her no expense was spared to keep her going and solid underneath and we knew her previous owners treated her very well too.
Fingers crossed.

Re: Are they out there?
with those kind of dates, my suspicion is they didn't make it through the scrappage scheme
Re: Are they out there?
That’s my fear I remain hopeful though she maybe sat in someone’s garage.RoverRevival wrote: ↑Sun Jan 23, 2022 3:11 pm with those kind of dates, my suspicion is they didn't make it through the scrappage scheme
really was a good solid car that needed no rust fixing at that time in its life.
Out of curiosity, if I was to say purchase one of these, what body panels would be available. I understand that rovers of this era are Niche market for aftermarket parts.
Would I be able to get outer and inner sills, patch panels for quarters, front wings and front crossmembers and supports etc
I would want a VandenPlas, but may consider something else.

Re: Are they out there?
nothing that i'm aware of but thankfully cars were designed with a ruler back then so we can fabricate anything the car could require pretty much on the car.

Yes - with tax due that long ago i'd be surprised but always a good idea to ask around on the forums - you could potentially get in touch with the DVLA and fill out a V888 form - think they can then send you any history they have on the vehicle

When did you sell it?
I am nostalgic too about my first car - J676RPA - a MK2F Polo I sold in 2015 for £500, now seem to be worth good money. My one ended up being in an accident in July 2017 - checked on the totalcarcheck website and paid £1.99 to find out.... sad i know

My dad Part Ex’d it in for a Rover 218SD non turbo, M446 GFH in BRG at “Pengam car sales” now TG Cars. In around late spring of 1998 and never saw it again. My dad wanted a Derv engine.rover216GSIman wrote: ↑Mon Jan 24, 2022 9:20 am Yes - with tax due that long ago i'd be surprised but always a good idea to ask around on the forums - you could potentially get in touch with the DVLA and fill out a V888 form - think they can then send you any history they have on the vehicle

In 2002 A Clio driver wrote off the derv 218SD, it was salvage to an insurance wreckers yard in Merthyr Tydfil South Wales, where it has met its end I presume. She was not really in good condition body wise to repair the amount of damage it suffered and I did.
