T series power steering pump

Post by Wayno220T »

Morning ladies and gentlemen, I'm currently hunting for a power steering pump for my 220 coupe turbo, I have seen a 420 gsi t16 non turbo that's being broken for parts on ebay (shame), just wondered if the pump is the same for nasp and turbo??

Thanks for any help/advice, iv been searching for ages now.

I think the only difference the two is the suction stub tube and you can unbolt them to swap it over if it's the wrong one
I like Twin Cams.... and Single Cams...and now Turbos

Yes I agree with John ^

Also you need to remember the PAS pump & water pump rotate off the same auxiliary pulley, therefore the PAS pump is open drive on the opposite end.

Some suppliers advertise 220T PAS pumps but they don’t have the open drive therefore wrong part!

Might be easier to just get your exisiting refurbished rather than trying to find a new unit or sourcing another second hand worn part.

I had mine reconditioned by:-

Driveshaft UK
Unit4, Victoria Buildings,
Newhall Street,
Willenhall,
WV13 1LQ

01902 602103

The cost was £234.00 including postage both ways. (They arrange pick up, as well as return in this cost).

Very prompt service and the PAS pump looked like new upon return. I highly recommend them.

Thanks guys, so the problem is it currently has the wrong part on it, we found out its an L series diesel pump which is why it's whined from new so refurbing isn't an option unfortunately. I think I'll take a punt on the 620 unit then. As always thanks for the help and advice :clapping

So b. a. s mini spares has a second hand 620 ti pump, the chap who runs it said the 620 pump won't fit, something to do with the ancillaries, does anyone know if that is the case, I'd have thought same engine, same pump? Unfortunately the 2.0 nasp 420 that was being broken for parts didn't come through as he didn't respond to my messages on ebay, the search continues......
