2017 Lancaster Insurance Classic Motor Show -10th to 12th Nov

Post by GTiJohn »

The theme has been announced
We are pleased to announce the theme for this year’s Lancaster Insurance Classic Motor Show, powered by Discovery, will be ‘Family Ties’. Held at Birmingham’s NEC from Friday 10 to Sunday 12 November, the 700+ exhibitors and car clubs are invited to embrace the theme with their own interpretations.
Should give us a few interesting options if we get a stand

Keep your eyes peeled :D

I still have the 420 GSI tourer that we got when about to start a family and the wife said that the coupe that I have owned from new, met my Wife in, lent to her when it was about 4 years old and was left driving around in a fiat van. It was used as a wedding car and 2 years later went into second car use when the Tourer came along. The tourer was in use from two months before my first son was born in 2003 having been purchased with 54k on the clock and was used to delivery my pregnant wife to the maternity hospital and bring both my sons home. Used as a main car for 8 years and parked up in 2011 when a 75 Tourer replaced it with about 90K on the clock. The toure was put back on the road for the R* 25th Birthday a Gaydon 2014?2015??

NO child seats as I dumped them lst year :slapme

Well, I still have the official Rover accessory booster seat from the mid 1990s. Somewhere.....might need to dig deep to find it :laughing2

My dream lineup for this show theme would be:

R8 saloon or hatch plus an equivalent Concerto
HHR hatch plus an equivalent Civic
R8 Tourer (are you volunteering yours for this, Kevin? :wink3 )

Not an obvious first choice for a family car but my GTi was back and forth to Reading University for three years while daughter No 2 was studying there.

With the back seats down my 216 could clear her room and all her gear from the Halls of Residence + a mountain bike (front wheel off).

Nice cameo if fully loaded...still got her books here...

Happy to offer the car.
