Re: New 200 Owner
Welcome! There seems to be loads of low mileage R3’s and R8’s popping out of the woodwork at the minute
So on that note...any pictures?

Not the best but Heres a photo of it (still working out exactly how the forum works
)

Re: New 200 Owner
Well you've passed the first test of working out how to post a photo
Good to see a 1.1 surviving. What made you choose it?
I like Twin Cams.... and Single Cams...and now Turbos

I love the 1.1, runs on fresh air
Re: New 200 Owner
Well, i'm a young lad who was looking to buy an appreciating classic to buy for when i start driving. I always wanted a Rover, since my dad has got quite the collection: A 19,000 mile 25, an MG TF LE500, an MGF we're breaking and a 12,000 mile 1986 Metro which we have to sell unfortunately.
I really wanted a rover metro or 100, but all the ones on my strict budget of £500 were rotten beyond repair. Id seen 200s come and go in budget, but they were all 1.4s. I ideally wanted a small engine for the cheap insurance for when i start driving (given i keep whatever car i get for 2 and a half years when i begin driving!). Then this lovley 1.1 200 came up locally, cheap, and looked to be in good condition, i snapped it up.
And i must say, its a bit of a bargain. Its definitely a keeper!
After lock-down it will be interesting to compare my 1.1 200 to my dads 1.4 25.
It should be a fun project!
And don't you all be thinking because i'm a young lad its getting chavved up!
shes's staying original.

It’s a right of passage to have a £1500 stereo in your £500 car though..*laughs*

Ha, mine did have the original R660 in it when I got it. For now I've put a not too flashy but smart JVC in it, I've kept the old of course.RoverRevival wrote: ↑Thu Jan 14, 2021 6:27 pm It’s a right of passage to have a £1500 stereo in your £500 car though..*laughs*

I've not had a particularly good evening with my rover! Due to a leaking rear light, the previous owner seems to have sealed it with silicone. There was some water in the lens, so I thought I'd take it out and dry it. But as I was taking it out, the silicone was too strong on one corner, and the whole thing shattered.

Which side light is bust. Somebody might have one if the scrappy hasn't. 25 lamps are the same size but the reversing light section is smoked I think...Aaron169 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 14, 2021 8:28 pmHa, mine did have the original R660 in it when I got it.
