Fuel gauge not "parking"

Post by Deev »

This isn't really a problem - just a bit strange, in that since I filled up the other day, my fuel gauge no longer parks (ie drops down) when I turn the ignition off - it just stays showing the current fuel level. Seems to show the correct fuel level - drops when I'm going down hill, etc, so it's reading correctly, but I'm pretty sure it used to park when turned off? Or am I just going mad? What would cause this?

Ah! That's interesting to hear.

The fuel gauge on my Tomcat stays where it is when I turn the engine off, but when I go downhill the fuel gauge drops, and when I go uphill the fuel gauge rises.

I don't remember having a see-sawing fuel gauge on any of my previous Rover's (although the fuel gauge stayed where it was when I turned the engine off), but it's nice to know that I'm not alone in this respect.
