Re: Rover 416 GTI Auto - Restoring an old friend
New power steering reservoir has arrived. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/54363148079_72547b3d1a.jpg Not sure how long I've been under the illusion that there was fluid in the old one as the dark shadow is there even when it's empty! Tried to clean the inside unsuccessfully so opted for a new on...

Re: Rover 416 GTI Auto - Restoring an old friend
Yes I’m wondering too about the exhaust heat shield. I replaced the exhaust shield about 7 years ago, the original had corroded away, and the new one was just beginning to show some signs of corrosion. It didn’t appear to be any type of special coating so I decided to stick with a standard powder co...

Power Steering brackets, alternator brackets , exhaust heat shield and steering box shield back from the powder coaters. :D Had them all done in silver rather than some of the parts being done in black, have to see how it looks when it's all back together, https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/5435789...

Re: Timing Covers Part Number confusion!
I’ve PM’d you.
Appreciate you checking for me.
The current ones are usable but the outer one I’ve had to repair one of the lugs so not sure how well it will last.

Re: Timing Covers Part Number confusion!
Yes I have used that.
I get a bit confused as the possible models that used the same engine.
Tried to order some bits from there but although it says UK it’s obviously not in the UK as you have to spend £165

Timing Covers Part Number confusion!
Can anyone tell what these parts are suppose to be fitted to? LJR10126 - Rear Timing Belt Cover LJR10128 - Cover-timing belt - Lower LJR10126 appears twice on ebay but with different vehicle application. Both look like the same as the one off my 416 GTi with Honda D16 DOHC engine so I'm wondering if...

Re: Water pump - use of sealant?
Thanks for that reply. Will give it a clean up and remove the existing sealant applied by the garage who did the water pump back in 2016. I’ll see what the mating surface looks like once I’ve done that. Thankfully the replacement pump I brought a year ago is the correct one, as I don’t think they wo...
