Re: New R8 30th Anniversary mug now available

As soon as any become available for non-members, let me know.
I'll take one, will sit nicely next to my Metro anniversary mugs.

Re: r8 headlight conversion

The TF unit would require some serious choppage. Actually not as bad as you might think. Looked into them for a mates Metro that's having almost everything else from a TF. Width of the R6 lights means the indicator would need to be built in. Would fit a Mk4 R100 though. Sure I'll get round to havin...

Re: r8 headlight conversion

TF units could work as well.
Projectors, has an indicator, (though that could be used for sidelight?), prob cheaper than BMW.
Mate has a pair of them, gonna take a closer look at those.

Re: Photobucket

Good for forum history, old build threads etc.
They left it too long though, people were forced to find an alternative.
Who will go back to the platform that screwed everyone over in the search for money?

Re: r8 headlight conversion

E36 is probably the easiest way. About the right size, holders for all the bulbs, adjusters, it's all there in one easy to find package. Several versions too, normal / projectors / angel eyes... pretty much covered whatever your taste. I'm thinking mounting them a bit higher so the top gets cut off ...

Re: r8 headlight conversion

I fancy putting quad headlights behind stock shaped lenses.
It's one thing I really liked about the some of the Super Touring era BTCC cars.
Not had many cars with the right shaped lights to start with, so would be nice to get round to it on the R8.

Climair wind deflectors.

Anyone here got pics of Climair wind deflectors fitted to an R8?
Both the front window ones and the sunroof one.
Or know of a alternative that does the rear windows too?
Thanks.

Re: Newbie with R8 416.

Brief search led me to believe the 216 and 416 GTi and the coupe were twin cam, and the rest single?
Done an 8v Metro cover before, VHT black and block flatting, hard work but a nice result.

Re: Newbie with R8 416.

I've not even opened the bonnet, but assume it's a single cam.
Cam covers look ideal for a bit of detailing, so that will probably get done unless the bay is a mess.

Newbie with R8 416.

Hi all, just picked up a late R8 416 SLi to use as my MG Metro appears to have dissolved in the rain! Not driven an R8 since the new 200's used as lone cars from the Land Rover dealership I worked at. Will no doubt end up giving it a few tweaks, but want to try and stay fairly sensible this time!? M...
