Re: Will it blow up?
Thanks all. So, his comments did have a little foundation after all. I will start soaking the nuts in WD 40 for a few days before starting this work, the car has been very well looked after, so hopefully will not put up much of a fight. Did the car come with an 'emergency roof? I have been told they...

Will it blow up?
On one of the nicer March mornings I had my 216 cabriolet parked outside my house, roof down, bonnet up, just checking fluids, pressure's etc, when my neighbour came over to 'have a look'. He's a nice enough chap and was asking about the car and what work needs to be done to it, the normal stuff, wh...

Thinking tyrescand tools update 2
Got my new tyres fitted on Monday, and wow, what a difference it makes to have a decent set. I didn't realise it would make that much difference, but it has transformed the way it travels, forwards especially, so much quieter, and does not wander and shake about, still some shake, but noticeably dif...

Thinking tools and tyres update
Thanks for your comments. I have ordered 4 Avon Zv7's to be fitted on Monday, they worked out about 60 quid each after discounts and a promo code for 10% off for buying 4 etc, so not too bad. I have looked at tool sets, the Halfords proffesional range and some in Machine Mart, but I am going to hold...

Thinking tyres and tools
Hi, and HNY to all. Not long owned my 216 Cabriolet, and absolutely lovin' it. Its my first 'car' as have driven vans for the past 15 odd years, maintained as a business expense. Now I'm putting my hand in my pocket and spending my own money on maintainance I need to be a little more careful. Tyres,...

Re: Stuttering wipers on intermittent setti g
Thanks. I can live with the wipers for the time being and will wait for a nice warm summer day to sort them out. I have ordered a repair kit for the areial as I can take that 'down the shed' and work on that in the dry and warm. I will report back in due course. I will get some bulbs now I know what...

Stuttering wipers on intermittent setti g
I have a couple of niggling problem with my newly acquired '97 216 cabriolet, 1) the wipers work fine on the normal and fast settings, but on intermittent, they stop twice on the 'upstroke' at the mideway point and twice on the 'downstroke' is there an easy fix, or is it a replacement wiper motor? 2...

Hello to all
Hi, new to Rover club and to forums, although not new to Rovers as I owned a beautiful green soft top 214, for about 6 years, which was only sold to fund a van for my then new business venture in 2011. I have sold this business now, van included, so I thought it only right and proper to get another ...
