Re: Ticking noise on open throttle up to 3000 revs

Thanks for the pointers. I’ll have another look at the manifold. I couldn’t sense a leak when I looked but I don’t suppose it has to be a big to make a fair noise.

Ticking noise on open throttle up to 3000 revs

I’m a bit baffled. I’ve got what sounds like an exhaust leak on my 420 tourer. Running up to 3000 revs if on more than the lightest throttle with the engine under any load there’s a tsst-tsst-tsst that then peters out over 3000 revs. I’ve put on a marigold glove and tried to cap the tailpipe to see ...

Re: Small Hole Front Subframe Drivers Side - Car Ender?

Hi there. If there’s a little break through there then the chances are it’ll be thin in the nearby area. I’d suggest a decent mobile welder could work out metal thickness, chop out and weld in a good sized patch to get back to solid metal. I think this is eminently saveable. Tricky bit is finding a ...

Re: Brochure shots

That’s perfect! I’d add a dash of sepia to the picture and then add a paragraph to the right hand side outlining just how successful you’d would feel if you splashed out on a Rover 200… or a stately home fir that matter :D

Re: Brochure shots

Would be great to see a lattice wheel 216GSI on the gravel in front of a stately home in the evening light, I’ll lend anyone who is photogenic my 1990s double breasted, oversized dinner suit for either an “Arrival at party” photo or a “heading home from party photo” … both are the same but the latte...

Re: R8 binnacle illumination

Thanks Rover Cabby - I’ve now found those. Wow - they like to charge for a tiddly bulb but needs must! Hope they last better than recent Chinese bulbs I’ve bought. There’s no way these days to tell whether a product is good quality and higher price doesn’t seem to be a guarantee!
