Re: R8 35th Anniversary Event - Sunday 15th Sept 2024
Awesome day today - thank you John, Jeremy and all involved - what a huge amount of organising that must have taken. Really appreciate it. Loved the wedding car and fake plates on the car in front of the steps to match the advert! I think my friend may right now be shopping for a 216GTI if anyone ha...

Re: R8 drivers door
Thanks very much! Have sent you a private message. I put on there that it’s urgent but in reality I’ll have to try to borrow another car so I’m just keen to get hold of one! Cheers

Re: R8 drivers door
I’ve checked everything - it’s not the check strap or the latch position on the body … it looks like it’s a broken door latch - https://i.ibb.co/YDQPfKT/00-C78-C05-BDE0-46-C8-8-EEB-2-A83956-D8698.jpg https://i.ibb.co/wsCKhwS/6-AE9-CAFF-DD2-E-4-F2-A-8380-1372-E0-AAB125.jpg Passenger and below the dri...

Re: R8 drivers door
Definitely nothing blocking it so it’s either check strap which looks fine - nothing should stop that going in, or the catch needs adjustment- but the door sits flat when shut. Anyone had the same issue? In all fairness the passenger door easily “flops” shut. The driver I’ve had resistance the last ...

R8 drivers door
Hi there. Been doing bodywork on my Rover driver side which has gone quite well. I have a long journey to do over the weekend and tonight after testing the car was ok - I got back, went to shut the driver door…. And it won’t shut. Will get as far as first catch but won’t shut fully. Can’t see anythi...

Oh that’s way better than having my car! Also I can look and see what mine should look like! I like my charcoal grey but that night fire red is definitely better

Re: NEC Classic Motorshow 8th - 10th November 2024
How onerous is it on time for getting there and getting out? I have a 420GSi Tourer but I’m not sure I’d want to be at the show for 4 days! Also my car is a constant work in progress so not a show car - it’s my daily driver

Re: Help with curious noise
Superb point. If the CV joints are at their limit in normal use, the engine has visibly risen with the new mounts so that could push it past its operating range

Re: Help with curious noise
Sounds a good technique. I’ve not changed mine using my tool in the end as the noise vanished when I changed the engine mounts. I have no idea how it fixed it. Must not have been the cv joint making the noise, possibly creaking from the engine mounts?
