I’ve bequeathed my ticket to a friend and a potential member.
I have done the same but you have the cars registration details so shouldn't cause an issue......

Re: R8 drivers door

I've had that problem years ago with the metal door strap limiting the opening. I found some bolts had come loose and the mechanism was a bit bent. Might have to take off the door trim panel to see what's going on inside, which is where most of it is. Taking the door panel off is straightforward, b...

Have a look at ssg.asia https://www.ssg.asia/parts-catalogs/hon ... 209&state= for Concerto parts. You have to dig deep and there is a limit on searches if your not registered

Re: Rover 216iL

The welding I was going to get booked in at a local body shop. I’ll check out the sill panels as that will save them time and money over fabricating them. One done I’ll flood with Bilt Hamber cavity wax and Lanoguard the rest of the car. I did that on an old Citroën and welding seat belt anchor poi...

Re: Rover 'Mink' Leather re colouring

What's actually needed, once the leather has been restored, is regular "feeding" with a good leather balm, to keep it supple and stop the cracks reappearing or getting worse. Something like Connolley Hide Care Cream or similar. I use Gliptone GT13.5 which is UV resistant and developed ori...

Rover 'Mink' Leather re colouring

So, whilst it looks very good after 33 years the Mink leather in my 216 had a few marks and was just starting to go in the usual driver's outer, upper bolster so did what I have done with other cars. Because I have used their products before and the factory is only 40 minutes away, I took the passen...

Re: Help with curious noise

That white stuff they spread around the rim when fitting is a kind of grease I believe. Maybe not a seal as such. I think it stops the rubber bunching up on the rims, which would potentially cause an air gap to appear. Solved now. I don't have Landsail tyres fitted any more! It's a soapy wax mixtur...

Ceramic Paint coating, does it make a difference?

When I bought the car from Phil the paintwork was very, very good, but I want to try and keep it that way so.... Today I had the 216 GSi given a Professional decontamination and paintwork treatment with a 'Matrix' Ceramic coating that comes with a guarantee. There are others available, but this was ...

I'm pretty sure the spring acts on the floating 'ears' to set the clamping force of the cap.

That makes more sense, thanks for the feedback
